Suspect Who Stole Dodge Hellcat from Dealer Spoke to Sales Rep Day Before

SOUTH MARLTON, NJ – A car thief who stole a Dodge Charger Hellcat from Elkins Chevrolet in South Marlton was identified because he was at the dealership the day before. During that interaction, employees at the dealer said the man was acting suspiciously.

On January 24, 2022, Elkins Chevrolet, 401 South Route 73, reported the theft of a 2018 Dodge Challenger Hellcat valued at $76,600.00. The ensuing investigation by the Evesham Police Department Investigative Bureau uncovered a potential suspect that was at the car dealership the day before the theft and acted suspiciously when asking about the Hellcat.

:Additional follow-up investigation resulted in the identification of the suspect who provided fake personal information to the dealership on January 23rd,” the police department said. “Based on the information and evidence obtained during the investigation, the suspect was identified as Kevin Fields of North Carolina. Fields was charged accordingly and is currently lodged in the Foothills Correctional Institute in Morganton, North Carolina on unrelated charges. Fields will be extradited to New Jersey once he is released.”
