Hudson County Corrections Officer Facing Forgery Charge

BAYONNE, NJ – A Hudson county Corrections Officer from Bayonne has been arrested and charged with falsifying medical records he submitted to his employer.

Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said Marko Nakhla, 34, of Bayonne, is charged with one count of Forgery in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:21-1a(3), a crime of the fourth degree. He was arrested without incident at the Hudson County

Prosecutor’s Office in Jersey City and released on a summons. Nakhla is scheduled to make his first court appearance on Wednesday, May 4, 2022.

The investigation revealed Nakhla submitted falsified medical records to his employer to receive additional paid medical leave. Prosecutor Suarez credited the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Public Integrity Unit with the arrest and investigation.
