MORRISTOWN, NJ (MCPO Release) – Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll, Chief of Detectives Christoph Kimker, and Morris Township Police Chief Mark DiCarlo announce the arrest of Stephen J. Clemo, 46, of Morristown, in connection with an April 18, 2022 incident that occurred on Egbert Hill Road.

At approximately 8 p.m., Clemo was at the victim’s residence. It is alleged that the defendant discharged a firearm one time, damaging property within the residence. At the time the firearm was discharged, the victim and their family members were present inside the home, including a minor child. Morris Township Police were dispatched to the residence via a 911 call. Upon arrival, the defendant surrendered without incident.

No injuries were reported by the victim, family members, or law enforcement.

On April 19, Clemo was charged by complaint-warrant with Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, both crimes of the second degree; Criminal Mischief, a disorderly persons offense; and Harassment, a disorderly persons offense. Clemo is currently in custody.

A criminal complaint is merely an accusation. Despite these accusations, the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until he has been proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
