South River Public Works Reminds Residents to Flush Water After Water Main Repair

SOUTH RIVER, NJ – If your water is cloudy or discolored, the South River Department of Public Works reminds residents to run their bathtubs, showers, and faucets to flush out dirty water that may have entered your home water system as a result of a water main break.

“Due to emergency water main break repairs taking place on Maklary Street, area residents may experience low water pressure and/or discolored water. In addition, residents in the immediate area may lose water service during the repair process. Repairs are anticipated to be completed by approximately 8:00pm tonight,” DPW told residents. “Running your cold water for several minutes as well as flushing your toilets once or twice may clear up any discoloration in some cases. If experiencing discolored water, avoid doing laundry until the color returns to normal.”
