Six People Wounded in Three Shootings in Petersburg

PETERSBURG, VA – After three shootings left six people wounded across Petersburgh Friday night, the Virginia State Police is moving int o assist local authorities with their investigation. According to Petersburg Police Deputy Chief Emanuel Chambliss, those injured included children.

The first shooting of the evening happened behind a Wendy’s and Hardee’s restaurant on Fort Mahone Street where one person was shot.

Less than ten minutes later, police reported a second shooting on the 200 block of Holly Hill Drive. That shooting hit four people, including two children.

Moments later, police announced a third shooting on Boydon Plank Road where one person was reportedly shot in the head.

Chief Chambliss and his officers are continuing to investigate what he described a ‘tough night’.
