Multiple Gunshots Crack the Silence of Night in Lindenwold, Two Shot, One Dead

Lindenwold, N.J. – Residents in Lindenwold heard the sounds of gunshots rung out Friday night and in the end, two people were shot, one was killed.

Detectives are investigating a shooting that killed one man and injured another in Lindenwold, reported Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay and Lindenwold Police Chief Michael P. McCarthy, Jr.

“On Friday, April 22, 2022, at approximately 8:09 p.m., officers from the Lindenwold Police Department responded to the 400 block of West Park Avenue in Lindenwold for multiple 911 calls reporting gunshots,” police said. “Upon arrival, officers located the victim, Alvin Redd, 25, of Lindenwold, lying in the street suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.  The victim was transported to Jefferson Hospital-Stratford, where he was pronounced deceased at approximately 8:47 p.m.”

A second victim, a 29-year-old Camden man, also was injured in the shooting and later arrived at Jefferson Hospital-Stratford for treatment.

The investigation is ongoing and no arrests have been made at this time.
