Child Shot And Killed in Vehicle in Toledo

TOLEDO, OH – The Toledo Police Department is reporting the shooting death of a seven-month-old child, Desire Hughes, who was shot and killed while riding in a vehicle at Jackman and Hillcrest on Thursday.

Hughes was in a car driven by her father, Jeremiah Hughes, when the occupants of an unknown vehicle fired shots at their car and fled.

“We are asking residents in the area to please review any home security footage they may have, and to report anything suspicious they may have seen before, during, or after this homicide occurred. Please, if you have any information call or text Crime Stoppers at 419-255-1111,” the Toledo Police Department asked residents.
