Driver Charged for Causing Death in 2021 Crash

NEWARK, DE – A 67-year-old Newark woman was indicted by a grand jury for her role in the death of a another during a fatal collision last July.

According to police, on April 12, 2022, a New Castle County Grand Jury indicted the operator of the Jeep Grand Cherokee, Cynthia Lovell, 67, of Newark, on one count of Operating a Vehicle Causing Death of Another for her involvement in this fatal collision on July 27, 2021.

“On April 27, 2022, Lovell turned herself in to the Newark Police Department. Lovell appeared before Justice of the Peace Court #2 and was released on her own recognizance,” Newark Police reported.
