Port Authority Police Officer Forged Medical Records to Get Paid Medical Leave, Prosecutor

JERSEY CITY, NJ – A Port Authority Police Officer was arrested on charges relating to falsified medical records she submitted to her employer.

According to the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office, on Friday, April 29, 2022, Marie Paz, 43, was charged with two counts of Forgery in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:21-1a(3), crimes of the fourth degree. She was arrested without incident at the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office in Jersey City and released on a summons.

Paz is scheduled to make her first court appearance on Friday, May 13, 2022.

“The investigation revealed Paz submitted falsified medical records to her employer to receive additional paid medical leave. Prosecutor Suarez credited the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Public Integrity Unit and the Office of Inspector General Port Authority of New York and New Jersey with the arrest and investigation,” Prosecutor Esther Suarez said.
