Shooting Suspect Quickly Arrested After Cops Heard Gunshots in Allentown

ALLENTOWN, PA – Police officers on patrol in Allentown responded to a shooting and, while en route, heard more shots, leading them to capture a suspect shortly afterward.

According to police, on Saturday, at approximately 11:30 PM, officers responded to the area of the 700 Block of North Meadow Street for a report of shots fired.

“Upon arrival on scene, officers could hear additional shots being fired in the area. Officers encountered a suspect in the area and a foot pursuit ensued. The suspect was taken into custody. A loaded firearm was located by officers,” the department said in a report. “

Zyair Singleton, 24 years of age, of Allentown was charged with firearms not to be carried without a license, Recklessly Endangering Another Person, Disorderly Conduct.
