16-year-old Charged for Robbery, Homicide in Wilkinsburg Shooting

WILKINSBURG, PA – A 16-year-old is in custody after being charged for a homicide committed on Sunday.

“At approximately 9:27 p.m. on May 1, 2022, County 9-1-1 was notified of shots fired in the 1400 block of Franklin Avenue. First responders found evidence of a shooting at that location. It was learned the victim, 37-year-old Cornell Lee, was driven to an area hospital by private vehicle where he was pronounced deceased. Wilkinsburg Police requested the investigative assistance of the Allegheny County Police Homicide Unit,” the Allegheny County Police Department said.

“County Police determined 16-year-old Devin Lee Martin of Pittsburgh was one of the people responsible for the homicide. On May 2, 2022, County Police obtained an arrest warrant for Martin charging him with criminal homicide, aggravated assault, robbery, conspiracy and possession of a firearm prohibited,” police added.

On May 3, 2022 at approximately 11:40 a.m., Martin was taken into custody without incident in East Pittsburgh. Martin is currently lodged in the Allegheny County Jail.
