Arrest made in Maytide Street Murder

PITTSBURGH, PA -Police have arrested a suspect wanted for the May 3rd shooting murder of a male victim who was shot in the chest.

On Tuesday, the US Marshal’s Service and members of the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police Violent Crimes Unit apprehended Elijah Terry-Smith at a residence in Penn Hills. They arrested Terry-Smith, 23, of Pittsburgh and charged him with Criminal Homicide. Smith was transported to Allegheny County Jail without incident.

Police responded to a 9-1-1 call on May 3rd for a person shot in the 500 block of Maytide Street just before 9 p.m. 

“Arriving units located a male victim inside a residence who had suffered a gunshot wound to the chest. He was pronounced deceased by medics a short time later,” the department said in a police report.
