Elizabeth Man Being Sought for Role in Home Depot Armed Robbery

NEWARK, NJ – A 51-year-old man from Elizabeth, Markeefe Grimes, 51, is wanted for robbery after he brandished a knife and stole tools from Home Depot on April 21st.

According to the Newark Department of Public Safety, police responded to a call about shoplifting, which occurred around 10:54 a.m. at the home improvement retailer, located at 399 Springfield Avenue.

“A store representative told officers that he saw Grimes, who has stolen items in the past, concealing several socket wrench sets in a backpack. A warrant has been issued for his arrest.”
