Worker Killed in Fall From Jersey Shore Boardwalk Amusement Park Ferris Wheel

OCEAN CITY, NJ – A fatal tragedy has occurred at Gillian’s Wonderland Pier in Ocean City. According to amusement park President Jay A. Gillen, an employee working for a subcontractor who was working on a lift at the amusement park died as a result of his injuries.

Robert W. Sanger, 62, of Pittsgrove, a welder was working on the park’s Ferris wheel when he fell from a lift he was on. Sanger worked for Cargo Tech International of Swedesboro.

Gillian said he and park officials are cooperating fully with a police investigation. OHSA is also investigating the incident.
