TRENTON, NJ – New Jersey’s plastic bag and styrofoam ban went into effect on Tuesday. Few at the Statehouse, the state capitol building where lawmakers gather to vote on new laws, violated that ban less than 24 hours later.
According to New Jersey State Senator Declan O’Scanlon, lawmakers on Thursday were greeted with snacks and coffee…served in styrofoam cups.
“So…remember how we outlawed styrofoam? Apparently, it’s another rule that doesn’t apply to the people that make the rules…Just now at the statehouse,” O’Scanlon tweeted.
On Tuesday, New Jersey’s plastic bag and styrofoam ban went into effect, but it seems the folks in the big building that passed the law, apparently didn’t get the memo.
