Two Shot in Baltimore Thursday Night Involving Off-Duty National Park Police Officer

BALTIMORE, MD – The Baltimore County Police are investigating a double shooting that involved an off-duty National Park Police Officer.

“On Thursday at approximately 6:20 p.m., Baltimore County police officers were called to the 1100 block of Deanwood Rd. for reports of shots fired,” the department said. “When officers arrived, they found two people with gunshot wounds. Both individuals were transported to an area hospital for treatment.”

Police said that during the course of their investigation, detectives identified an individual involved in the shooting as an off-duty police officer with the Maryland National Capital Park Police – Montgomery County Division.

“The officer was not injured,” police said. “Investigators believe all the individuals who were involved in this shooting have been identified and there is no threat to the community. This remains an open investigation.”

The police did not provide any further details of the shooting.
