Newark Police Department School Resource Officers Host Community Clothing Drive

NEWARK, NJ – For Newark police officers, sometimes protecting and serving goes beyond just wearing a badge and carrying a gun to keep the neighborhoods soafe. For Newark’s 4th Precinct Community Service Officers B. Burrows and K. Eley, alongside School Resource Officer I. Carter, it meant helping those in need in the community.

The officers held a pop-up clothing drive for the community on Springfield Avenue and Irvine Turner Boulevard. Over 40 families stopped by during their commute to pick up some new and slightly used items, according to the department.
