Police Investigating Deadly Shooting in Bowie

BOWIE, MD – Detectives from the Prince George’s Police Department are investigating a fatal shooting that took place Thursday night in Bowie. According to police, 33-year-old Javon Washington of Glenn Dale was shot and later died in the hospital.

Police are now offering a reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.   

“On May 5, at approximately 11:00 pm, patrol officers responded to a local hospital for the report of a gunshot wound victim who had been driven there in a private vehicle,” police said. “The preliminary investigation revealed that while Washington’s car was sitting at a stoplight at the intersection of Enterprise Road and Annapolis Road a black SUV pulled up next to the victim’s vehicle and fired multiple shots striking the victim.”

Washington was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
