Raleigh Police Shoot Man Who Torched Cop Cars With Molotov Cocktails, Threatened Officer

RALEIGH, NC – A man armed with Molotov cocktails was shot by a Raleigh police officer after he torched two police cars with Molotov cocktails minutes earlier. When the man threatened to throw one of the Molotov cocktails at a responding officer, he was shot and killed.

Police Chief Estella Patterson said two vehicles were fully engulfed in flames and the suspect did throw one of the incendiary devices in the direction of police officers. The entire event was caught on the officers’ body-worn cameras.

The man, who was shot multiple times was rushed to a nearby hospital where he died.
