Man Who Shot and Killed 16-Year-Old in Buffalo Arraigned in Court

BUFFALO, NY – Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 21-year-old Kel Leed D. Alexander of Buffalo was arraigned this morning before Erie County Court Judge Sheila A. DiTullio on an indictment charging him with one count of Manslaughter in the Second Degree (Class “C” felony) and one count of Criminal Possession of a Firearm (Class “E” felony).

It is alleged that on Friday, March 4, 2022, at approximately 7:50 p.m., the defendant recklessly caused the death of a 16-year-old male by firing a single shot from an illegal handgun, which hit the victim on the left side of the head. The incident occurred inside of the defendant’s residence on Fisher Street in the City of Buffalo.

Alexander is scheduled to return on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. for motions. Judge DiTullio continued previously set bail of $100,000.00. The defendant continues to remain in custody.
