JERSEY CITY, NJ – A man who was banned from the Six26 nightclub on Christopher Columbus Street in Jersey City showed up at the club early Thursday morning but was turned away by security staff. The man got into an argument with bouncers and stabbed a clubgoer who had broken a bottle over his head during the scuffle. The victim, a 37-year-old male was stabbed twice and rushed to the Jersey City Medical Center and is listed in stable condition.
At around 12:30 am, the attacker, who was identified as a problem patron by club management and previously banned from entering pulled out a knife as security personnel confronted him. At that point, a non-club affiliated patron smashed a bottle over his head and was subsequently stabbed twice by the man.
Six26 is billed as Jersey City’s premier LGBTQ+ rooftop nightclub.
Police have not released the suspect’s name at this time, nor have they announced any charges yet.
