Neptune Man Killed in Weekend Shooting

NEPTUNE, NJ – Police in Neptune found a man shot multiple times in his car at around 11 p.m. on Saturday at the intersection of Hillview Drive and Edgemere Road. The man was transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead during the morning hours of Sunday.

Acting Monmouth County Prosecutor Lori Linskey announced Monday said the victim has been identified as 39-year-old Marques Mills.

“Members of the Neptune Township Police Department responding to a report of a shooting shortly before 11 p.m. on Saturday, May 14 found Mills inside a vehicle at the intersection of Hillview Drive and Edgemere Road, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds,” Linskey said. “He was subsequently transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead during the morning hours of Sunday, May 15.”

At this point, police have not identified a suspect in the shooting and the shooter remains at large.
