68-Year-Old Man Injured in Accident, Driver Pleads Guilty to Assault Charge

BUFFALO, NY – A 68-year-old man suffered head trauma from injuries caused in an accident on Tuesday and the driver of the other vehicle in the crash was charged with vehicular assault.

43-year-old Willie D. Green, also known as Dennis M. Brown, of Buffalo pleaded guilty yesterday afternoon before Erie County Court Judge Susan Eagan to one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree (Class “B” felony) and one count of Vehicular Assault in the Second Degree (Class “E” felony).

“On Saturday, April 16, 2022, at approximately 8:45 p.m., the defendant was driving, while under the influence of a drug, northbound on Wilson Street when he caused a collision with another vehicle that was traveling eastbound on Sycamore Street in the City of Buffalo. During the investigation, the defendant was found in possession of more than ½ ounce of fentanyl,” the Erie County Prosecutor’s Office said. “The driver of the other vehicle, a 68-year-old man, was taken to ECMC where he received treatment for head trauma. The victim continues to recover from the injury.”

Green faces a maximum of 15 in prison when he is sentenced as a second felony offender on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at 9:30 a.m. Bail was continued at $5,000 previously set in Buffalo City Court. The defendant remains on house arrest for a parole violation.
