31-Year-Old Man Shot and Killed in Camden

Camden, NJ- The Camden County Police Department is investigating a shooting murder of a 31-year-old male on Tuesday night.

Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay and Camden County Police Chief Gabriel Rodriguez in a joint statement reported, that on Tuesday, at approximately 9:24 p.m., Camden County Metro Police Department received a ShotSpotter activation for shots fired at 721 State Street in the city of Camden.

“Responding officers arrived on scene and located a male victim, identified as 31-year-old Luis Vazquez-Garcia suffering from apparent gunshot wounds inside of a vehicle,” police said. “Vazquez-Garcia was transported to Cooper University Hospital by responding units and pronounced deceased at 9:34 p.m., by Dr. Echeverria-Ramos of Cooper University Hospital.This is an ongoing investigation between the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit and the Camden County Police Department.”
