Newark Police Seek to Identify Suspects in May 7th Shooting

NEWARK, NJ – Police in Newark are seeking the public’s help to identify multiple subjects wanted for a shooting that took place on Saturday, May 7th, in the 200 block of 18th Avenue

Accoring to Department of Public Safety Director Brian O’Hara, at approximately 4:50 p.m., Police patrolling the area responded to a ShotSpotter notification. Detectives investigating this incident have determined that three suspects, each armed with handguns, chased and fired at an unknown victim.

No injuries were reported.

Director O’Hara urges anyone with information regarding the identity of any of these suspects to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477).
