Two Shot, One Killed in Camden Shooting Tuesday Night

Camden, N.J. – Detectives from the Camden County Police Department and Camden County Prosecutors Office are investigating a shooting that killed one man and injured another in Camden on Tuesday evening.

Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay said that on Tuesday, at approximately 8:20 p.m., officers from the Camden County Metro Police Department were dispatched to 1 East Randolph Street for reports of a victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound inside of a vehicle in the parking lot. 

“Upon their arrival, officers located an unconscious 36-year-old male victim. The victim, later identified as Mark Virgile, was located inside a vehicle, suffering from multiple apparent gunshot wounds,” the Camden County Police Department reported. “EMS personnel transported Virgile to Cooper University Hospital where he was pronounced deceased at 8:46 p.m. by Dr. Echeverria-Ramos.”

A second male victim, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds from the same shooting incident, was dropped off at Cooper University Hospital by a privately owned vehicle a short time later. The 35-year-old victim of Philadelphia, Pa., remains hospitalized in critical condition.
