Brooklyn Man Charged for Home Invasion, Beating with Baseball Bat

GLEN BURNIE, MD – The Anne Arundel County Police Department has announced the arrest of Shane McGovern, 27, of Brooklyn, Maryland for a home invasion and assault that took place Monday morning.

According to police, at approximately 12:30 a.m. officers responded for an assault in the 800 block of Crain Highway in Glen Burnie. The suspect, armed with a baseball bat, forced his way into the residence and began destroying property before striking the victim with the bat.

The suspect was known to the victim and fled the residence on foot prior to the officers’ arrival. The suspect was subsequently located by officers, arrested, and charged accordingly.
