Edgewater Man Charged for Pointing Guns at Woman on Multiple Occasions

Edgewater, MD – Police have arrested 18-year-old Daniel James Bruce after a woman claimed the teen pointed loaded guns at her on several occasions at his home.

The Anne Arundel County Police Department said at approximately 3:30 p.m., officers met with two victims regarding two assaults that occurred on earlier dates.

“An adult female victim reported that a male acquaintance pointed an AR-15 assault rifle at her while at the acquaintance’s residence in the 1500 block of Mayfield Road in Edgewater on April 8, 2022. A second adult female victim reported she was at the suspect’s residence on May 19 when the suspect pointed a handgun at her,” the department said. “Reportedly the suspect made threatening statements during these assaults. No rounds were fired during either incident, and no physical injuries were reported.”

The investigation resulted in the execution of a search warrant at the suspect’s residence resulting in the seizure of an AR-15 .223 rifle, an 870 Remington 12 gauge shotgun, and a 9mm Polymer 80 handgun, 1,840 .223 rounds, 1,560 .308 rounds, and 650 9mm rounds. The suspect was taken into custody and charged accordingly.
