Shooting in Columbus Takes One Victim, Killer Turns Himself In

COLUMBUS, OH- Columbus Police responded to a shooting at Fenimore Court early Saturday morning. Upon arrival, officers found a victim with apparent gunshot wounds. Madison Township Medics transported the victim to Mt. Carmel East Hospital, where according to investigators, “despite receiving lifesaving medical treatment, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.”

Later that night, Bayette E. Mitchell turned himself in to Columbus Police Headquarters, Where he confessed to committing the crime. He is being held at the Franklin County Jail.
