One Struck After Shooting Near Utica Home

UTICA, NY – Police in Utica said a gathering in front of a home turned into a shooting and one person was taken to the hospital with multiple gunshot wounds.

“At approximately 4:30 PM Utica Police units were dispatched to St. Luke’s Hospital for a walk in gunshot victim. It was learned that that the male had been struck in the arm and knee,” police said. “As the investigation proceeded information was developed that the incident had originally occurred on the 800 block of Watson Pl as the male was at a gathering there. Gunshots were fired at the group, and the victim was struck twice.”

Upon arrival where the shots were initially fired, officers located three spent .40 caliber casings in the roadway in front of the residence.
