Police Find Gun During Severn Traffic Stop

SEVERN, MD – A Severn man was arrested and charged after a traffic stop led to an illegal gun charge.

According to the Anne Arundel Police Department, on Sunday at approximately 1:30 a.m. officers conducted a traffic stop for an equipment violation in the area of Pioneer Driver and Arwell Court in Severn.

“Officers learned that the driver was operating the vehicle in violation of a license restriction. During the course of their investigation, the officers observed an open container of an alcoholic beverage in the vehicle,” the department said. “Officers later discovered a loaded black handgun inside the vehicle’s center console. The driver was arrested and charged accordingly.”

William Nelson Roque, 21, of Severn was identified and arrested.
