36-Year-Old Jersey City Man Charged for Assault of 14-Year-Old He Met at Train Station

JERSEY CITY, NJ – A Jersey City man who met a 14-year-old girl at a light rail train station has been arrested for sexually assaulting her.

Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said on Wednesday, members of the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit arrested Cashmere Mudayh, 36, of Jersey City, on charges relating to the sexual assault of a 14-year-old girl he met at a Light Rail station.

The crime occurred on Monday, April 18, 2022 at Mudayh’s Fulton Avenue apartment after he met the victim at a Jersey City Light Rail station.

Mudayh is charged with one count of Sexual Assault in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:14-2c(4), a crime of the second degree, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4a(1), a crime of the third degree. He was arrested at his place of residence and transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility pending his first court appearance.
