Man Killed While Trying to Stop Robbery in Columbus

COLUMBUS, OH- The Columbus Police Department is investigating a murder that took place early Tuesday morning. Officers were dispatched to the 6100 block of Park Glen Road on reports of a shooting.

Officers found 39-year-old Joshua Moyer suffering from an apparent gunshot wound when they arrived. Medics responded to the scene, where they pronounced the victim was deceased at 4:38 AM.

“Moyer was leaving for work when he discovered a male rummaging through his wife’s car which was
parked in the couple’s driveway,” investigators said. “Moyer confronted the male and attempted to detain him until police arrived. A struggle ensued between Moyer and the male, where the male shot Moyer, fatally wounding him.”

Investigators found that the killer had broken into several cars in the area.
