Utica Police Reports Scam Caller

UTICA, NEW YORK – The Utica Police Department has received many reports from residents who have received phone calls from a 315-223-3425 number.

According to the Police the number ,” comes back to the Utica Police Department Records Division. The caller identifies themselves as a member of the Utica Police Department and informs the caller that they have an insurance lapse or are guilty of some other infraction. Please be aware that this is a scam. These calls are not coming from an authorized member of the Utica Police Department. “

The Utica Police are also reminding residents to “never provide personal or financial information over the phone to a caller or business that you were not expecting to contact you, and to be wary of any caller who alerts you to a unfamiliar problem or offers you a prize.”
