Weapons Found After Police Chase in Syracuse

SYRACUSE, NY- The Syracuse Police Department has made two arrests after a vehicle pursuit. Officers responded to the area of the 4200 block of South Salina Street on reports of suspicious activity and a weapon complaint on May 20. 

Officers received information that there were two males armed with handguns in the area. They found the two suspects in their vehicle in the area and when they tried to stop the car, the suspects then sped off. A pursuit began and went on for several minutes. During the chase, two handguns were thrown out of the vehicle.

“Eventually, the vehicle stopped near the on-ramp to 481 towards Fayetteville,” according to police. “The driver was detained and identified as Lamar Lee, 33, of Syracuse, and the passenger was detained and identified as Vekeme Williams, 23, of Syracuse.


Officers were able to recover the weapons that were disposed of during the chase
