Utica Police Investigating Grand Theft Auto of Walmart Scooter

UTICA, NY – Police in Utica have made an arrest after a man fled Walmart property on a scooter that belonged to the store.

According to police, on Sunday, at approximately 5:15 PM Utica Police units were dispatched to Walmart regarding a Grand Larceny investigation.

“Upon arrival, they were informed that a party whom both UPD and Loss Prevention was familiar with had exited the store, and began to ride a Walmart electric scooter through the parking lot proceeding off of Walmart property,” police said. “Having familiarity with the party, an officer with the Patrol Division proceeded to conduct a check of the area, and located the suspect still riding the scooter on Cosby Road.”

The male, Damir Hejni age 66 of Utica, was then stopped and detained. He was soon transported to the Utica Police Department and charged with:
