Toms River Police Officers Participate in Annual Special Olympics Torch Run

TOMS RIVER, NJ – When the leg of the annual Special Olympics torch run made its way through the northern barrier island, it was escorted by members of the Toms River Police Department. Over 50 officers ran from Ortley Beach to Brick Beaches. Some even continued on the journey with the torch to Brielle.

“We could not have asked for more perfect weather Friday morning as over 50 of our officers ran from Ortley Beach to Brick in the 2022 Torch Run in support of Special Olympics of New Jersey, a charity near and dear to all of us,” the Toms River Police Department said in a statement today. “Some officers continued on to Brielle to support other agencies and raise additional funds for this awesome charity.”
