Man Stabbed in Pittsburgh, Suspect In Custody

PITTSBURGH, PA – A man stabbed Saturday morning in the area of Longfellow Drive remains in critical condition, but his attacker is now behind bars.

The Allegheny County Police Department reported at approximately 1:54 a.m., Munhall Police were notified of a stabbing on Longfellow Drive. First responders found an adult male suffering from a stab wound to the abdomen. The victim was transported to an area hospital and is in critical condition.

Munhall Police requested the investigative assistance of the Allegheny County Police Homicide Unit. Detectives responded and initiated an investigation, the department said.

Allegheny County Police determined 36-year-old Robert Siegel of East Pittsburgh was the person responsible for the stabbing. Siegel was taken into custody, and he was charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, terroristic threats, and recklessly endangering another person. Siegel is currently lodged in the Allegheny County Jail
