67-Year-Old Bicyclist Struck by Passing Vehicle That Fled the Scene in Hit and Run

CAROLINE COUNTY, VA – The Virginia State Police are searching for the driver of a black GMC, Chevy Suburban, or Tahoe who ran over a 67-year-old bicyclist and fled the scene on Monday.

Police said the truck will have damage to the front passenger side of the vehicle.

“The crash occurred at approximately 9:25 a.m. Monday in the right lane northbound on Route 1, half a mile north of Golansville Rd. (Route 601) when a black Chevy SUV struck a man on a bicycle. The black Chevy SUV then left the scene,” police said.

The bicyclist, a 67-year-old male, was injured in the crash. The victim was transported to VCU Medical Center for treatment of serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
