Newark Police Officers Join Residents in Celebration of Juneteenth

NEWARK, NJ – Newark Police Department officers showed off their community policing skills and their community togetherness to celebrate Juneteenth at the Mount Vernon Elementary School.

6th Precinct Community Service Officers M. Braswell and J. Miranda joined a community walk in celebration of Juneteenth orchestrated by Principal Brown and the entire student body at Mt. Vernon Elementary School. The walk started in front of the school and proceeded around the entire block as students chanted and sang songs to commemorate Juneteenth.
