House Fire Displaces Six in Perth Amboy

PERTH AMBOY, NJ – A two-alarm fire at 2.5 story residential structure in Perth Amboy displaced six residents in Perth Amboy last night. At around 7:09 pm. the Perth Amboy Fire Department responded to an attic fire at 284 Oak Street.

“Upon arrival, heavy smoke was found showing from the attic of the 2.5 story residential occupancy and a second alarm was transmitted,” the Perth Amboy Fire Department reported. “Crews stretched two hoselines to quickly contain & extinguish the fire in the attic while all searches were completed.”

There were no injuries reported and firefighters said six residents were displaced by the fire. The fire is being investigated by the Fire Investigation Unit.
