16-Year-Old Shot in Front of Apartment in Columbus

COLUMBUS, OH- The Columbus Police Department is investigating a shooting that took place at the 1200 Block of Crestwood Avenue early Wednesday morning.

Officers were dispatched to the area on reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, they found the 16-year-old inside a nearby apartment suffering a gunshot wound to his abdomen.

The victim was transported to Grant Medical Center, where he was given surgery for his injuries. He was questioned by police after this.

“The juvenile was standing outside when he heard a gunshot and realized he had been hit,” according to investigators. “There were no witnesses, and no scene was located by officers.”
