87-Year-Old Pedestrian Struck and Killed in Silver Spring

Silver Spring, MD – A pedestrian was struck and killed Friday in Aspen Hill according to police. At approximately 4:36 a.m., 4th District officers and Montgomery County Fire Rescue personnel responded to the area of Georgia Ave. and Rossmoor Blvd., for the report of a pedestrian struck.

“The preliminary investigation by detectives determined that the pedestrian was in the roadway, and not in a crosswalk when he was struck by a blue 2016 Kia Optima traveling southbound on Georgia Avenue,” police reported. “The adult male victim was pronounced dead at the scene.”

The decedent has been identified as 87-year-old Randall Dwight Gibson of Rockville.
