Man Charged for Menacing Victims with Shotgun

UTICA, NY – On Sunday, Utica police offers responded to an armed menacing call at 1:10 am on the 900 block of Rutger Street.

According to police, upon their arrival, the officers were directed toward the weapon and the male suspect. The male was detained by the officers and the weapon was immediately secured.

“After speaking with individuals on the scene it was learned that the suspect and other parties engaged in an argument when the male went back to his vehicle, retrieved the weapon, and then returned and pointed it at them making statements to shoot them. At that point the Police were called and arrived soon after,” police said.

Jermar Jackson, 39, of Utica was arrested and transported to the Utica Police Department and once there was charged for Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the second degree and Criminal Possession of a Firearm.
