Stafford Township Police Kick Off 12th Annual Youth Police Academy

by Stafford Police Department

Monday morning kicked off our 12th Annual Stafford Township Youth Police Academy.

Day 1 started with forty junior cadets learning military etiquette and practicing facing movements with Sergeant John Morrin and Sgt. Phil Mauro.

Cadets then took a full tour of the police department, and had the chance to investigate a mock crime scene with Detectives Drew Smith and Al Jillson.

After lunch, we had a special visit from the N.J. Department of Corrections K-9 Unit. A giant thank you to these officers for taking the time out of their day to talk to our kids and put on an amazing K-9 Demonstration.

The day was concluded by a visit from Pelicans Snowballs.

The Stafford Youth Police Academy is held in cooperation with the Stafford Recreation Department. Thank you Jen McBrien and the volunteers and officers that make this week possible for our kids.

More on our YPA tomorrow!
