Wilkes-Barre Man Charged After Menacing Neighbors with Guns

WILKES-BARRE, PA – Police in Wilkes-Barre today reported that at 5:12 pm on Sunday, a man was waving a gun and rifle at people in the area of 46 Barney Street. Police said Robert Shreve, 42, was arrested after pointing the guns at residents and threatening to kill them.

According to police, Shreve was reported to be waving a pistol and rifle, while threatening to shoot people, in front of 46 Barney Street. When police arrived he retreated back into his home and police suspected a female might have also been inside the home at the time.

“Upon officers’ arrival, Shreve was inside of the residence,” police said. “After ascertaining that Shreve’s girlfriend was not in residence, officers talked him into exiting the residence and surrendering.”

He was taken to the hospital for treatment and charges filed on him.
