Clifton Police Searching for Wanted Man Who Tried to Run Over Cop During Escape

CLIFTON, NJ – Police in Clifton are searching for a man who tried to run over a police officer during an escape from apprehension back in June.

According to police, on June 18, officers responded to the area of Valley Road on the report of a suspicious act in progress.

“Once our officers arrived on scene, one of the involved parties; specifically, Alberto J. Maymi-Sepulveda (42 years of age), began to flee the scene in a vehicle. While in the process of doing so, he slammed the door on the officer who was attempting to stop him. The suspect then accelerated and struck the officer with the vehicle as he fled from the scene. (The officer suffered arm contusions as a result of the incident),” police said in a statement.

Since the incident, the suspect has managed to evade capture.


He is currently wanted for Aggravated Assault on a Police Officer, amongst other charges related to a secondary matter. His last known address was on the 100 block of Valley Road in Clifton.
