Child Bicyclist Struck by Hit and Run Driver in Lakewood

LAKEWOOD, NJ – A driver struck a child who was riding his bike at an intersection in Lakewood Township near Ridge Avenue and Brook Road. The incident, captured on video, shows the vehicle attempting to make a left turn when it struck the child, knocking him off his bike.

The driver stopped his vehicle and exchanged words with the boy, but got back in his car and fled without calling the police or reporting the incident.

The child’s bicycle was damaged, but he was not injured. The Lakewood Police Department is investigating.

The man, who was driving a white vehicle was described as a black male with a beard, wearing a yellow safety vest and dark clothing.
