CLIFTON, NJ – Police now suspect arson as the cause of a June 30th fire at a medical building on Clifton Avenue. At this time, police did not say if there any intended targets of the fire, but that one suspect was wearing a Spiderman mask.

“On June 30. an officer was on patrol in the area of Clifton Avenue and Paulison Avenue when at approximately 12:30 AM, he observed heavy smoke and flames coming from a nearby building. The officer subsequently confirmed that the source of the fire was 721 Clifton Avenue – a medical office building,” police said.

The Clifton Fire Department was then dispatched to the scene and eventually able to extinguish the fire. Further investigation led to the determination that the cause of the fire was the result of arson.
