10-Year-Old Shot by Stray Bullet Inside His Pittsburgh Home, Second Victim Found

PITTSBURGH, PA – A 10-year-old boy was shot while inside his Zephyr Avenue home in Pittsburgh when a stray bullet was fired at around 9:30 pm last night. In total, police said 14 shots were recorded by the city’s ShotSpotter gunfire alert system.

“When Zone 6 officers arrived, they were directed to a 10-year-old male with a gunshot wound to the arm. Police rendered aid by applying a tourniquet to the victim,” police said. “A witness stated the round struck the victim while he was inside the house. Medics transported him in stable condition.”

Police located a second gunshot victim on the 500 block of Sherwood Avenue. The 19-year-old male was transported in serious condition.

There were no suspect descriptions, and the investigation is ongoing.
